Have your itinerary ready. Use the passport you will travel with, and confirm whether your airline can transfer your baggage and provide your onward boarding pass without immigration clearance.
If you have more than one connection, check every stop separately. If your transfer arrangements are uncertain, ask your airline before selecting an airside connection.

Airside transit vs passing through immigration
Airside transit means remaining in the international transit area without passing through immigration. Some nationalities still need an airport transit visa, and exemptions may apply.
Landside transit means passing through immigration. This can happen when collecting baggage, changing airports, or using a hotel outside the transit area, even if you do not leave the airport building. Entry requirements then apply.
What can change your result
Your passport and documents
Nationality, passport type, and qualifying visas or residence permits can affect transit requirements and exemptions.
Your connection
The airport, arrival and departure dates, layover duration, and the countries before and after the stop can matter.
Your transfer arrangements
Separate tickets, baggage collection, or a boarding pass available only landside may require immigration clearance. Separate tickets alone do not prove that entry is required.
Understand your result and next steps
Read the conditions as well as the headline result. A visa exemption for one connection does not automatically apply to another.
Confirm before you commit
Use the official guidance to confirm the correct permission and application process before making non-refundable arrangements.
Check every condition
Confirm that your passport, documents, route, transfer arrangements, and connection time meet all the stated conditions. Visa-free transit does not always permit entry or sightseeing.
Do not assume approval
Identify the missing condition, check the official source, and ask your airline to confirm your transfer arrangements. Do not interpret an uncertain result as approval.
